The program for the last weekend of the Mulheres Em Cantadas project, which brings the launch of books by five writers from Santo André of the most varied styles, through the Sacadas Literárias project, and musical performances such as that of the group Solaris Vocal e a Roda Choro Delas, in addition to the Mulheres do ABC block.

The Sacada Literárias project is an initiative carried out by the Department of Culture that launches books by writers from the city and will feature a special edition during Women’s Month, within the Mulheres Em Cantadas program.

Tomorrow, starting at 6pm, four authors will be presenting their works. Thina Curtis, Andreense, mother, grandmother, poet, comic artist, screenwriter, art educator, speaker and cultural producer, national and international reference in fanzines, launches the work BraZineira’s. The publication contains 36 reports from women who work in various artistic expressions in the zine universe.

Author Benedita Lopes – from Andreia, black father and mother, daughter of Belchior dos Reis Lopes and Josefina Maria de Jesus Lopes – launches the solo book Porções para se Acordar Presente. Written by Benedita during the confinement imposed by Covid-19, it was the author’s way of maintaining her own sanity/humanity and spreading poetry that has a touch of prayer.

Sonia Nabarrete will release the collection Amor Em Any Tempo, with poems published by Editora Feminas. The book is full of eroticism and good humor, which are the author’s hallmarks.

Writer Amanda Bertoncini launches the book A Velha Senhora. The work tells the story of Afonsina, an 81-year-old woman who becomes a widow after 67 years of marriage and, instead of being sad, has a feeling of emptiness and freedom. Granddaughter Vitória tries to support her, even though she doesn’t understand the real reasons for this. Together, they follow a path of conflicts and encounters.

The Sacadas Literárias project continues on Saturday, at 2pm, with the launch of the work of writer Paola Zanei. Her book Poemas Para Queimar Certezas contains 123 poems on themes such as desire, love, disagreement, maturity, femininity, the weight of everyday life, routine and overcoming.

The name comes from the author’s habit of asking questions about life in her creations and, by asking herself about human questions, she puts the question in the reader’s head too, encouraging him to look at himself and, often, find identification.

“I have been writing since I was 14 years old, that is, almost four decades of production that has grown and matured with me”, explains Paola. “I made a more recent selection, from recent years, to create the book. Today I am more acidic, more questioning, more experienced and all of this passes into poetry”, she adds.

The collection is divided into four moments: ‘Desire, Love and What Didn’t Work’, ‘Doubts, Certainties and The Journey to the Center of Oneself’, ‘Routine, Time and Doubtful Maturity’ and ‘Discoveries, Freaks and Some sincere advice’.

“I needed to start releasing my poems. There was no point in leaving the texts saved. I started publishing them on social media (@piracoespoeticas), with very good feedback from people. Then I realized that, actually, organizing the book was my life’s dream”, he recalls.

Holding the launch at Cine Carlos Carlos Gomes makes it even more special. “My father was an actor in the city and performed there. I have been going there since I was a child and being able to launch my book there completes my achievement”, concludes Paola.

The book features layout and illustrations by Nádia Burghi. Copies are now available on Amazon, Mercado Livre and the Pod Editora website.
