The Portuguese stock market closed the first session after the long weekend due to Easter in the green. Lisbon contradicted most of the main European markets, which recorded losses. The star of the day was Galp, which reached its highest levels since January 2020.

The Lisbon stock exchange returned with gains from the four-day break due to Easter, in contrast to most of the main European markets. The PSI advanced 0.43%, to 6,307.21 points, with 10 listed in the green, four falling and two – Navigator and Ibersol – unchanged.

Galp led the gains, riding the highs since October for oil, with a rise of 2.64%, to 15.72 euros. During the day, the oil company’s shares rose 3.43%, reaching 15.84 euros, the intraday maximum since January 6, 2020.

Boosting the index was another heavyweight, BCP, which advanced 0.45%, to 0.314 euros. The bank’s shares touched 0.3187 euros during trading, the highest value since the beginning of December.

Note also for Corticeira Amorim, which rose 2.54%, closing at 10.08 euros, and for CTT, which gained 1.45%, ending the day at 4.19 euros.

Jerónimo Martins ended up closing on a high, gaining 0.27%, to 18.43 euros. However, during the day the owner of Pingo Doce fell to 18.22 euros, the intraday minimum since May 2022.

Preventing further PSI gains was the EDP family. EDP ​​Renováveis ​​fell 1.24%, to 12.39 euros, while the parent company dropped 0.22%, to 3.602 euros.
