The president of the RTA, André Gomes, says that “the approval of accounts by the General Assembly demonstrates the recognition and appreciation of the actions carried out by the entity throughout the year 2023”.

The General Assembly of the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA), meeting in Faro on Monday, the 22nd, unanimously approved the Activity and Management Reports for the year 2023.

The entity recorded a positive net result of 991 thousand euros, “evidence of financial solidity and compliance with established objectives”.

The president of the RTA, André Gomes, says that “the approval of accounts by the General Assembly demonstrates the recognition and appreciation of the actions carried out by the entity throughout the year 2023”.

“This positive result is the result of the hard work and dedication of the entire RTA team, also demonstrating rigorous and efficient financial management of resources, despite the budgetary constraints that are imposed on regional tourism entities”, he concludes.

The General Assembly also approved the Activity Report, which covered a set of
actions “aimed at consolidating the growth of tourism in the region, with a focus on diversification
supply, promoting sustainability and valuing cultural and natural heritage
of the Algarve”.

The entity highlights the promotion of 40 promotional actions for the destination, 11 discussion sessions,
participation in four dozen projects, in addition to the attribution of 180 support for events,
more than 330 support for entrepreneurs, 1700 publications on online promotional channels and
information and service to 380 thousand visitors in the network of tourist offices throughout
2023.

“The results obtained demonstrate sustainable regional growth in the main indicators, with the results surpassing the final values ​​of 2022, and highlighting the desired recovery, in line with the rest of the territory”, can be read in the document.
