CUF gives 11 million in bonuses to employees and raises salaries by 7.8% – Economy – SAPO.pt

Expansion of the network, to bring CUF closer to those who need healthcare, but also a more diversified and complete offer were the bets that led CUF to invest 120 million euros last year, in expansion, innovation and research. A decision that helped to achieve better results: in 2023, José de Mello’s healthcare group recorded profits of 38 million (+9.5% than in the previous year). And he decided to share the results with those who help achieve them on a daily basis: employees.

“The important contribution of employees to this performance was recognized with the attribution of an extraordinary bonus of 11 million euros, with investment also continuing to enhance salaries through an increase in wages by 7.8%” reveals the company led by Rui Diniz. This involves, in extraordinary remuneration alone, around 1.3 more salaries per worker awarded, as SAPO announced last week.

As a result of the expansion of the network and the scope of services — CUF Açores, Leiria, which will be ready in 2025, and with Hospital da Covilhã joining the list in 2027, but also having expanded the home and oncology care network —, “CUF reinforced its proximity to the population by providing healthcare to more than 1 million and 200 thousand people”, reveals the health group, pointing out that 11% of Portuguese people seek out CUF. “The increase in the supply of healthcare, which allowed an even closer and more flexible response through the national network of hospitals and clinics, digital channels or home services, translated into 2.9 million consultations, 10 million exams , 43 thousand teleconsultations, 64.5 thousand surgeries, 451 thousand emergency episodes and 4.3 thousand births. This evolution in assistance activity contributed to a consolidated net result of 37.8 million euros.”
