Audi has increased the power of its larger models. The new Q7 and Q8 now have more powerful plug-in hybrid configurations.

The models also had an increased range of standard equipment. The two arrive in Europe in June.

With a new generation of powertrains and larger batteries, the maximum combined power is 490 hp. Furthermore, the autonomy in electric mode is 84 km, according to the WLTP cycle.

The new Q7 and Q8 TFSIe receive a 340 hp 3.0 V6 turbo engine, which is combined with a 177 hp and 47 kgfm electric motor, all with an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. Thus, the power goes to 394 hp and the torque reaches 600 Nm, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.

There is the option of the 60 TFSIe quattro, which results in 490 hp and 700 Nm, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds. Electronic management determines the difference between powers.

In any configuration, the maximum speed is limited to 240 km/h.

The battery can be recharged using alternating current (AC) at outlets up to 7.4 kW, with a full charge in 3 hours and 45 minutes. There is, however, no direct current (DC), according to the Motor1 website.

The Audi Q7 and Q8 can also be started in electric or hybrid mode through a specific activation in the multimedia system.

The new Q7 and Q8 arrive in June, with prices of 87,240 and 102,995 euros (R$477.6 thousand and R$563.8 thousand), respectively.
