The Portuguese stock market stood out among the main European markets this Monday, closing with a rise of just over 1%. In the pairs of the Old Continent the day was mixed but without major variations.

The Lisbon stock exchange ended up gaining more than 1% on a day when its counterparts in Western Europe were divided between rises and falls, but of reduced expression. The PSI advanced 1.03%, to 6,680.62 points, with the main national index reaching 6,691.71 points, the intraday maximum since the beginning of July 2014.

Of the 16 listed on the PSI, 14 closed in the green, Greenvolt closed unchanged and Galp was the only drop of the day.

Jerónimo Martins led the rises, gaining 2.42% to 19.49 euros. The retailer benefited from the increase in recommendation and target price by JPMorgan following the quarterly results presented on Friday.

Paper pulp producers were also in the spotlight: Navigator increased by 2.03%, to 4,232 euros, and Altri increased by 1.45%, to 5,245 euros.

The EDP group also supported the index. EDP ​​Renováveis ​​saw its shares gain 1.95%, to 13.1 euros, while the parent company rose 1.67%, ending the day at 3.582 euros.

Still with valuations above 1%, Ibersol stood out – which presents 2023 results today and rose 1.69%, Semapa, which gained 1.52% to 16.02 euros, Sonae and REN, with advances of 1.39%, to 0.95 euros, and 1.34%, to 2.265 euros.

BCP lost some of its momentum at the start of the session and closed with a gain of 0.43%, up to 0.3256 euros.

Galp, which shined last week riding on the commercial potential of its fields in Namibia, gave up 0.73%, to 20.39 euros, on a day when crude prices continue to fall by more than 1%.
