Banco Montepio shareholders approved, at a general meeting (AG), a distribution of six million euros as dividends, according to a statement released today at the Securities Market Commission (CMVM).
In the document, the bank informs that “its annual general meeting (GM) was held on April 30, 2024, with “the presence of shareholders holding 99.994% of the respective share capital”.
Montepio bondholders thus approved a proposal for the allocation of results for the 2023 financial year, which involves “covering actuarial deviations related to the pension fund”, with 76,649,473.12 euros [78,6 milhões] and retained earnings, in the amount of 13,240,756.11 euros [13,2 milhões de euros].

The AG also approved the management report and accounts for the 2023 financial year, of the bank’s individual and consolidated activity.
Banco Montepio recorded profits of 32.1 million euros in the first quarter of this year, a drop of 9.1% compared to the same period last year, the institution said in a statement released on April 29.
