CSecurity 2024, the largest international conference on CyberSecurity in the Interior of Portugal, will take place on the 8th and 9th of May in Guarda. This year's edition will focus on artificial intelligence in the area of ​​cybersecurity and the new European cybersecurity directive, NIS 2. The 8th is in person (there will also be online transmission) and on the 9th it is possible to attend the CSIRT Workshop for free. in-a-box.

The event will bring together several experts in the IT and cybersecurity field to share knowledge and good practices.

Day 8 – Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Security

Miguel Ángel Cañada, from INCIBE (National Institute of Cybersecurity and Cybersecurity), will talk about the opportunity to develop cybersecurity opportunities on a European scale. . From the National Cybersecurity Center (CNCS) there will be Isabel Batista who will address the topic “Challenges of AI for cybersecurity”.

Daniel Ferreira from Fortinet, Rui Duro from Checkpoint, Luís Trencheiras from Palo Alto It is José Capota from Huawei will participate in the round table where threats and challenges in the area of ​​cybersecurity will be discussed, as well as the action and contributions of technological giants against the world of cybercrime.

Luís Seabra from Sentryonics will give a presentation on the use of artificial intelligence in the area of ​​cybersecurity. José Capote, from Huawei, will bring the vision of a manufacturer present in Portugal for 20 years, focusing on good practices in the area of ​​security and providing perspectives for the private and public sector regarding the impacts of the NIS 2 Directive.

For the first time in Portugal, a study of the impact of the new European cybersecurity directive NIS 2 in Portugal will be presented. The study was carried out by the law firm Cuatrecasas and will be presented by Dr. Joana Agostinho.

Bruno Gonçalves from Warpcom will talk about Quantum Security, David Russo from the CyberSec on the use of AI as a cybersecurity strategy to defend assets and Jorge Reis Silva from AFCEA will address the topic “Information exchange in the aviation ecosystem and its impact on safety levels”.

From the CIMBSE will be Joana Farias whose presentation theme is “Digitalization and Cross-border Resilience through the promotion of a cyber-secure CENCYL region”. On the Polytechnic side, Pedro Pinto and Fernando Melo will talk about the challenges and opportunities of cybersecurity at the Polytechnic of Guarda and in Portugal. Day 9 – CSIRT in a box workshop

This is an introductory workshop on the CSIRT – Computer Security Incident Response Teams ecosystem. This workshop will address the most common tasks of CSIRT teams, namely the entire incident response process.

It will also be explained how and for what purposes CSIRT teams are formed in organizations. Some typical tools will be mentioned, with a special focus on open-source.

This Workshop will be taught by Carlos RCTS CERT classes. He currently assumes a leadership role in RCTS CERT, the Computer Emergency Response Team of the Portuguese I&E Network. From 2017 to 2018 he was President of the General Assembly of the Portuguese CSIRT Network and from 2021 to 2022 a member of the Steering Committee (redecsirt.pt).

He was also manager of LinhaAlerta between 2016 and 2018, and represented the Portuguese Hotline at the INHOPE Association (inhope.org). He now attends FIRST and TF-CSIRT, focusing primarily on incident response and anti-abuse issues.
