QFour flight attendants are accused of smuggling “millions of dollars in drug money” from New York to the Dominican Republic, abusing “their privileges as airline employees.”

According to federal authorities announced this Wednesday, cited by NBC News, the suspects had access to the ‘Known Crewmember (KCM)’ program at John F. Kennedy International Airport, which allowed them a quick and X-ray-free passage through security. .

“In effect, given these less stringent security procedures, KCM privileges allow flight attendants to pass through airport security with large amounts of cash without that cash being seized,” states one complaint, which was written by a special agent for Homeland Security Investigations.

Charlie Hernandez, 42, Sarah Valerio Pujols, 24, Emmanuel Torres, 34, and Jarol Fabio, 35, are accused of smuggling around 8 million dollars, more than 7 million euros, in “cash alive” to the Dominican Republic, according to prosecutors, coming from drug trafficking.

Hernandez lives in West New York, New Jersey, while the other three suspects reside in New York.

Delta Airlines confirmed that two of the defendants work for the airline.
