Emily Willisan American adult film actress, managed to come out of a coma and is recovering after a cardiac arrest suffered in February. She showed signs of improvement this week.
After 52 days in a ‘vegetative state’, she is regaining consciousness and, according to her stepfather Michael Willis, opens her eyes, smiles and expresses emotion when talking to family members. She can also recognize people nearby.
Donation campaign
To cover the costs of medical expenses, as well as travel and accommodation for the family to stay close to the hospital, a fundraising ‘crowdfunding’which already exceeds R$340 thousand in donations.
The majority of donations would have been made by fans of the adult film star, who has several supporters across platforms. One of the supporters disbursed around R$20,000.
In an interview for the portal TMZ, her stepfather stated that he intends to transfer her to Utah, where they live, so that she can recover with her family. She is hospitalized in California.
Throughout her career, the young woman would have managed to save a considerable amount, but the actress’s accounts are blocked and do not list her family as beneficiaries.
The cause of the cardiac arrest has not yet been defined, and the chance that it was due to an overdose was ruled out after a toxicological examination. At age 25, she was undergoing treatment for drug addiction and weighed 36 kilos at the time of admission to rehabilitation.
