The singer’s mother was mistreated in a restaurant in Portugal
Last Sunday (31), Mc Daniel exposed to his followers on social media an uncomfortable situation that his mother, Daniela Amorim, experienced in a restaurant in Portugal. The matriarch called a waiter “young man” and received a hell of a lecture, as the expression is only used with children up to 12 years old and with adults it can mean “inexperienced person”.
The funk singer’s mother didn’t know that the term could sound pejorative outside of Brazil, but the restaurant employees felt offended and argued with her in the middle of the establishment. “I felt sorry for her. How lucky I wasn’t there,” said Mc Daniel.
In the video, Daniela Amorim was visibly embarrassed when she heard that she should call them employees. “He’s not a guy here,” said the waiter. “You can’t say boy? Employee? In Brazil you can’t say employee”, she explained. “You’re not in Brazil. Where are you?”, replied the waiter. “Wow, how rude to me. There I speak young. I didn’t know I couldn’t. You’re teaching me (…) Wow, I want to leave”, concluded the artist’s mother.
“My mother was visibly uncomfortable, not knowing that she couldn’t call a man a boy in Portugal, yet the shitter wanted to pay him off as a macho man, making her uncomfortable,” the artist wrote on social media.
