On the weekend Anita performed for more than 80,000 people at the Tecate Pal’Norte 2024 music festival, in Mexico, and was surprised on stage by Mexican singer Peso Pluma, 24, with whom she recorded the song “Bellakeo” last year.

Pluma, whose real name is Hassan Emilio Kabande Laije, took to the stage carrying a butt-shaped cake to celebrate the singer’s birthday.
He arrived hooded, carrying the cake, and soon removed the mask to reveal his identity to the artist. The two took the famous ‘bite’ of the sweet, and then the mariachis came in to sing ‘las mañanitas’ [o ‘parabéns’ mexicano] for Anita.
The singer seemed very moved by all the affection she received. The public asked the two to kiss. Even though they were a little embarrassed by the audience’s request, Anitta and Peso Feather gave a little kiss.
Anitta was very moved by the gift. “How beautiful! Thank you!!,” she shouted to the audience. “How exciting. This was the happiest birthday of my life, I promise you!”

Anitta also shared behind-the-scenes images of her participation in the show on her Instagram.
When publishing a carousel of photos, she wrote in the caption:
“This year I spent my birthday doing what I love most and I was surprised with a lot of love. Being welcomed like this outside my country was an emotion that I cannot describe. Mexico, thank you for the best birthday of my life.”
Among the prominent artists who participated in the festival were, in addition to Peso Pluma and Anitta, Maná, Blink-182, Louis Tomlinson and Thirty Seconds to Mars, among others.
