The end of an era or continuity. This is what will be decided this Saturday, April 27th, at the Dragão stadium, with the most controversial elections in the history of Futebol Clube do Porto. At the head of the club since 1982, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa sees his 42-year leadership challenged by André Villas-Boas, who previously coached FC Porto.

Controversial in football and in his personal life, Pinto da Costa has been, from an early age, a man of many passions. He married for the first time at the age of 27 and it’s not risky to say that he never stopped. His first marriage, to Manuela Carmona Graça, took place in April 1964. The couple’s eldest son, Alexandre, is now 57 years old, born from this relationship. His relationship with Filomena Martins, who would end up being his second wife, began in 1985 but it was only in 1997 that he divorced Manuela Carmona Graça. Meanwhile, Joana is born, currently 38 years old, the only daughter of the president of FC Porto.

In 1998, Pinto da Costa and Filomena Morais got married. The divorce took place in 2002, after the leader of the dragons had already started what would be the most controversial, public and troubled romance of his life, with Carolina Salgado. In an unexpected turn of events, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa and Filomena Morais got closer and married for the second time, in 2007. Filomena Morais’ second divorce took place in 2012, the same year she tied the knot with Fernanda Miranda, 50 years younger, with whom she had already been dating for three years. This relationship, also with ups and downs, came to an official end in 2016, with the couple getting back together for a brief period in 2017. In 2017 she began a relationship with Cláudia Campo, currently 46 years old. The pair got married in August 2023 and it has been the banker who has been by the FC Porto president’s side at this late stage in his life.
