Playing different roles, Júlia Palha has confirmed her versatility. Currently, she enters the Portuguese home in the SIC soap opera “Senhora do mar” and can also be seen in the feature film “Amo-te Immense” which premiered this week in cinemas, in characters that cannot be compared in any way.

In the television project, the actress plays Maria, “a super-fighting girl”, which fills her to perfection. “I always like to play these stronger roles, with some drama to explore”, she shares, in conversation with JN, from the Azores, where much of the story unfolds. In contrast, Tessa, the young woman who plays in the romantic comedy shown on the big screen, “is super comical and fun”.

On July 18, Júlia will appear as Laura in “Could have waited for August”, the film directed by César Mourão, who also plays the role of an acolyte who will fall in love with his character. It’s another comedy on the CV, although the protagonist admits to feeling “more comfortable” in dramatic situations, mainly because she has tried them more often.

“Comedy is a little outside my comfort zone, but I think that, after experiences like ‘Vale tudo’, for example, I really freed myself from the fear of ridicule, the fear of shame, which is something that is very important in a actor”, he confesses. The challenges of representation do not scare Júlia Palha. This is because, “especially in this area, we cannot be afraid of failing, otherwise we will never do things differently and better. We have to take risks, like any job,” she adds.
