The expected attendance is 1.5 million people, say city hall and government. It will be the biggest show of the singer’s career. The main stage starts at 7pm, with DJs — including Diplo. Madonna’s show starts at 9:45 pm, lasting 2 hours.
City hall investment in infrastructure is R$10 million. “We are the host of this great event. We are happy to welcome the pop diva to the city. It is our duty to leave the city with the best possible quality, given that the world is talking about this end of the 40th anniversary tour of Madonna in Rio de Janeiro”, says Patrick Corrêa, president of Riotur, the Splash.
Rio’s public bodies joined together in “operation Madonna”. The joint effort begins today and runs until the 6th. 3,200 military police will be deployed, with 64 vehicles and 65 observation towers, to ensure public safety. In addition, the site will have three medical stations with 30 ICU ambulances and 80 stretcher bearers, and 550 sanitation cabins. The “operation” also includes a special bus line that will leave from Terminal Gentileza to Copacabana, via Aterro do Flamengo. Disembarkation will be made on Avenida Princesa Isabel. Opening hours: from 1pm until 4am.
