Rio – Singer Jorge Ben Jor, 85 years old, was present at a hearing this Tuesday (30) at the 5th court in Copacabana, regarding the alleged case of assault on photographer Lucas Bento, which would have occurred in November 2023.

The photographer registered a police report at the 5th DP (Mem de Sá), in the center of Rio, alleging an alleged attack by the singer at Santos Dumont Airport. The Civil Police investigates the case. Lucas reports that Jorge Ben Jor would have pulled him and grabbed him by the neck.
According to Lucas, he did not immediately recognize Jorge Ben Jor as the attacker, as he was photographing an actress when he was surprised by the attacks. He explained that it was only after taking the photos that he went to find out who had committed the violent act.
Lucas highlighted that he had never been through a situation like this and that the aggression affected his work. He told police that the airport’s security cameras could prove what he reported. Jorge’s advisor states that everything will be clarified in due course.
