José Castelo Branco was on TVI’s ‘Dois à 10’ program on Wednesday (May 1), and spoke about the recent controversy he had in a Lisbon restaurant. The socialite claims to have been a victim of bullying, but regrets having reacted aggressively.
“I had just finished dinner. I was with two friends and I said I had to go outside and smoke a cigarette. They told me: ‘Smoke here’. I light the cigarette and there is a lady who says she is eating. I immediately put out the cigarette. Right away. I didn’t even have time to smoke.”he recalled.
However, when he went out to smoke, he says he was attacked by two individuals. “They tell me: ‘How is that possible? You think you can do everything because you’re rich, famous, married to a rich old woman. Calling Betty ‘old’, I was waiting for her to die and my son should be ashamed – that was what upset me the most”he added.
On the same program, José Castelo Branco opened his heart and spoke of his “unbelievable love” for Betty, his son Guilherme and his granddaughter Constança. “They are the three most important people in my life”he stated.
The next day, he apologized for the explosion.
