It was the young woman’s boyfriend who lured her to a forest area and attacked her, before allowing the other boys to rape her. According to police reports cited by the Press, the group filmed the attack with cell phones and published it on social media.
“The youngest suspect is 11 years old. Because the suspects are so young, we are not releasing much information. However, they were all identified and detained, and measures were taken by the Juvenile Court. Our attention, now, is mainly focused on the victim, who is receiving support”, Tom Janssens, from the West Flanders Public Prosecutor’s Office, told “VRT News”.
According to other Flemish media, it is suspected that the boys are descendants of immigrants. Six of them were taken to an institution, while the other four were placed under house arrest. Everything is being done to prevent the victim’s family or other people from discovering the identities of those involved.
The news also states that the girl was kept in the bush for two days. In addition to being raped, she suffered other types of attacks without any of the young people telling the others to stop.
