Adriano Silva Martins has been a commentator on “Noite das Estrelas” for over a year, but before that he was part of “Manhã CM”.
In an interview with the magazine TV7 Dias this week, Adriano Silva Martins stated: “I only have one commitment, which is with the truth and with the public. Anything that lacks respect for the public and lacks the truth, I will always be against. Unacceptable behavior is us bringing personal antipathies to the airwaves and to our work that have nothing to do with the public interest or the truth of the facts.”.
“I’ll give you an example: I love my colleague, Léo Caeiro, but we disagree on many topics, one of them is Margarida Corceiro. I cannot accept, and it is not because I like Margarida, that Margarida, for the simple fact that she is a beautiful woman, successful and living the life she wants, is attacked in the public square as if it were the 21st century. I BC and she was a wicked woman who had to be stoned in the public square. I think Léo often goes overboard, but I tell him this, and he knows it. If I think they are not being right with someone, I will always say”, he added.
Adriano Silva Martins confessed that he is incompatible with Léo Caeiro “every day”: “What I think is that it stretches and I would never say. When he says that Cristina doesn’t have feet, she has fins, ok, it’s in a humorous context. But now, in this moment, when we are so aware of mental health, of attacks on social media, of gratuitous attacks, I don’t see the need”.
