Actress Carol Bresolin, born in Rio Grande do Sulused social media to share with his followers the situation he finds himself in due to the heavy rains hitting the region. In a video published on Instagram, she cried when narrating what people are going through and reported having been left without water, electricity and communication networks.

“Today is Thursday, nine o’clock at night. We’re without electricity, we’re without water, we’re without a network. And you see how much none of this matters. Nothing that we value matters. The only means of communication that What we have is a radio, a battery”, she said in the post made this Sunday, 5th, days after recording the video.

Carol also reported that she spent the day listening to the radio, witnessing the calls for help from people stranded on roofs, with their homes destroyed by the waters.

“And I spent the whole day listening to this little radio. Man, the amount of people asking for their lives on the roof, with their house destroyed, but just asking for help, asking for their lives. It’s unbelievable”, he lamented.

On the date she recorded the video, the actress also highlighted that she didn’t know when she would be able to post it, as she was out of communication.

“We have no communication, we can’t talk to anyone, nor receive news from anyone. This is very distressing. But I know that when I post, the only thing I want and can ask for is help”, she highlighted, who only managed to publish three days later.

Rains in Rio Grande do Sul

The Government of Rio Grande do Sul updated the numbers in relation to the tragedy affecting the State amid the storms and the flooding of the Guaíba River. At 9 am this Monday, 6th, they were confirmed 83 deaths – 4 under investigation – and 111 missing.

In total, they are already 850,422 affected by the tragedy. In addition, 345 municipalities were punished, 19,368 people in shelters, 121,957 homeless and 276 injured.

The RS Civil Defense works to rescue stranded and injured people, together with other State authorities. The integrated rescue force for flood victims received reinforcements this Sunday, the 5th. According to the State, the number of boats used by the Military Fire Department was doubled, reaching 257 vehicles. The security forces fleet also received an additional 526 vehicles. Finally, the number of troops on the front line was increased, with 4,991 military and civilian personnel.

In relation to resource supply, CEEE Equatorial claims to have 175,252 points without electricity (9.5% of total customers); RGE Sul, on the other hand, lists 260 thousand points without electricity (8.4% of total customers); Corsan, in turn, identified 884,802 customers without water supply (28% of the total).

Telephone services have also been an obstacle. Tim had its signal damaged in 32 municipalities; Vivo has no signal in 40 municipalities; Claro is without service and without internet in 24 cities.

In terms of mobility, according to an update at 9am this Monday, there are 102 sections on 58 highways with total and partial closures, including roads and bridges.
