I’m not afraid of people taking my things, I’m afraid of confronting thieves. It’s something that has gotten worse since I live alone and, above all, when the kids aren’t there.”said.

“When I’m at home I’m always locked, I have a bulletproof door and all that stuff. I left the house and I always lock the door, even if it’s just to put out the trash, I lock the door“he stated, then recounting a recent episode that happened to him. “I left the house and when I came back the door was closed, but It wasn’t locked and I thought ‘there are thieves in the house’“he recalled.
“Courage came to me from God knows where, I opened the door and went to every room in the house (…) I forgot about that, it was time to go to sleep, I heard a noise and thought ‘confirm it, there’s a thief in the house’. I went to my room and locked myself and slept.”, he said. However, there were no thieves. Ana Garcia Martins had simply forgotten to lock the door in her rush.
