To reinforce the service of the health network, at a time when the State is experiencing the seasonality of respiratory viruses, the Pernambuco Health Department (SES-PE) opened, this Monday (29), another 20 beds in the adult ward for patients with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (Srag)at the Pernambuco Memorial Hospital (HMP) – old Bom Jesus Health House -, located in Maurício de Nassau neighborhood, in Caruaru.
The seasonality period begins in March and extends until July. The opening of beds in Agreste Pernambuco is part of the State government to decentralize care for people in Pernambuco, regionalizing services and reducing pressure on large public hospitals located in Recife Metropolitan Region (RMR).
The HMP will now have 260 beds, 210 of which will be in the infirmary and 50 in intensive care. The hospital is currently at 40% capacity. The health unit provides a diagnostic sector for carrying out imaging exams, in addition to 03 operating rooms, with the capacity to perform 450 procedures per month.
“We are very happy with today’s opening. HMP is already a reference in carrying out surgeries for Unified Health System (SUS) in the region and, from today onwards, it becomes support with infirmary beds and, later, with intensive care beds”, said the hospital’s CEO, Sidney Ribeiro.
