The month of May is, internationally, dedicated to raising awareness among drivers and pedestrians about road safety. The motto “Peace in traffic begins with you”, proposed by the National Road Safety Observatory, will be worked on throughout the month in various spheres.
In Arapiraca, SMTT has an extensive program to encourage traffic education and thus reduce the number of accidents in the region. This Friday (03), the team from the Multidisciplinary Development Center (NDM) was at a driving school to talk to students who are studying to obtain their license.
With the presence of Zé Máforo, the SMTT mascot, the NDM and the Department of Traffic Education (DET) took traffic care for children to the José Tavares School, marking the beginning of Yellow May activities.
Throughout the month, SMTT Arapiraca will hold several lectures in schools, through the Educa Project; in companies, in addition to educational blitzes to reinforce care for safer traffic. For the superintendent of SMTT, Katiane Duarte, traffic education actions are fundamental to changing the existing traffic culture. “Visits to companies, schools with Zé Mafóro and the educational blitzes, which are carried out by SMTT, are fundamental to changing traffic. The more we can make people aware, we will have safe traffic”, she highlighted.
