This Friday, the 10th, the Music Band Festival will be held, at Quadra do Centro Cultural in the João Cabral neighborhood, starting at 5:30 pm. The event will feature performances by bands from the Cariri region and will celebrate its 6th edition. The Festival had its first edition in 2019 and, in 2021, it gained more notoriety and support from the municipal management and the Secretariat of Culture of Juazeiro do Norte.
The Music Bands Festival will have the following bands in its program:
– Olívio Lopes Angelim Music Band – Brejo Santo
– Francisco Paulo de Araújo Music Band – Santana do Cariri
– UFCA Music Band – Juazeiro do Norte
– Padre Cícero Music Band – Juazeiro do Norte
– São Pedro Music Band – Caririaçu
– Padre David Moreira Music Band – Farias Brito
Lindembergue Alves Costa, Maestro of the Padre Cícero Music Band, one of the members of the event’s program, talks about the importance of music bands in our state and how they are cultural tools of great relevance, being true music schools, if not the only ones , who transmit this art.
According to Lindembergue, Sebam (State System of Music Bands), in its latest registration, reached a number of 192 bands across the state, which represents more than one band per municipality. The person directly responsible for thinking about the event and the Music Band Festival is ASMUB (Association of Band Musicians of Juazeiro do Norte).
The band’s maestro highlights that “we are bringing some bands from the Cariri region and we would like more bands to be present at this very important event to showcase the work they do”. He adds that “the aim of this meeting is to encourage this work, form an audience, bring people closer to music bands, showing the repertoires that are worked on and this entire cultural context carried out by them”.
