Covid-19: MS reaches 62 deaths from the disease this year

An elderly woman, aged 89, is the 62nd victim of covid-19 in Mato Grosso do Sul this year. The data are from the SES (State Health Department) Epidemiological Bulletin, released this Tuesday (7). In total, 45 new positive cases of the disease were confirmed in the last week.

The most recent victim registered suspicion on April 7th, and the death occurred on the 26th. The elderly woman lived in Eldorado and had obesity and chronic cardiovascular disease as comorbidities.

It is worth remembering that MS had not registered deaths due to Covid for two weeks.

Of the new positives, Anaurilândia leads the state ranking with the highest notifications, compared to the previous week, with nine patients undergoing treatment. Aral Moreira registered six new cases in the last seven days. Next is Dourados (6), Jardim (3), Paranaíba (3) and Alcinópolis (2).

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Mato Grosso do Sul, 633,651 positive cases have been recorded, with 11,243 deaths. In 2024 alone, 9,151 patients were diagnosed with the disease.

Vaccination

Data from the secretariat indicate that 80.6% of residents were immunized with the monovalent vaccine, with the highest rate among the age group of 75 to 79 years, with 139.6% in the primary scheme and 60.5% in the bivalent booster. .

Elderly people aged 80 and over had 112.3% vaccinated in the primary schedule and 42.3% in the booster schedule. Look for the nearest health unit and get vaccinated!
