New Alagoas Radialism class will be named after former municipal employee Edvaldo Silva

The newest group of radio broadcasters from Alagoas, which will be trained next Saturday (11), in Arapiraca, will be named after the radio broadcaster from Arapiraquá, Edvaldo Silva. The radio presenter worked for years as a servant at Arapiraca City Hall for the municipality’s Communications.

The tribute to the professional who dedicated his life to radio in Alagoas came from the idea of ​​radio broadcaster and Secretary of Sports of Arapiraca, Josenildo Souza.

“Another group of radio broadcasters is being formed by the Union of Radio Broadcasters of the state of Alagoas and as it is here in Arapiraca, nothing more fair than paying homage to a local professional, who contributed greatly to the history of radio in Alagoas”, declared Josenildo Souza.

Radio presenter Edvaldo Silva passed away at the age of 64 in 2020, a victim of Covid-19, in Arapiraca. He worked for 42 years as a radio host and worked at Rádio Sampaio de Palmeira dos Índios, where he carried out his activities for 15 years.

But, Edvaldo Silva started working at Rádio Novo Nordeste AM, in the early 1980s, in Arapiraca. He also worked on other stations in the Capital of Agreste. He was a reporter, sports commentator and anchor of several radio programs.

New broadcasters

The training of new broadcasting students will take place in the auditorium of the Public Defender’s Office of the State of Alagoas (DPE/AL), starting at 8:30 am, where the course was concluded. The headquarters of the state body is at Rua Samaritana, 994, in the Santa Edwiges neighborhood.

According to the president of SindiRádio Alagoas, Paulinho Guedes, the tribute to the radio broadcaster from Arapiraquá is more than fair and deserved.

“Communication in Alagoas was in mourning at the time and this tribute is fair and we will ensure that this new group of radio broadcasters is named after this professional who worked for more than four decades in Alagoas”, said Paulinho Guedes.

Paulinho Guedes will be present to hand out certificates to new radio professionals. The inspector general of the Public Defender’s Office, André Chalub from Minas Gerais, who is also a sports commentator in Arapiraca, will be present at the ceremony.
