Founded in July 2018, the Association of Energy Traders of the Liberalized Market (Acemel) already has 20 members and “a significant representation of the market”, the president, João Nuno Serra, told PÚBLICO. The manager reveals that there are companies in the fuel sector interested in joining the association because “they want to come into the electrical energy sector” and speaks of a “new dynamic”, which should not be wasted. Therefore, he asks the future Government to resume the calendar for eliminating regulated prices, not to slow down the pace of the energy transition, and to eliminate bureaucratic barriers that prevent greater freedom in purchasing renewable production. In between, he criticizes the Energy Services Regulatory Entity (ERSE) and praises the former Secretary of State for Energy, João Galamba.
