Rumors had already circulated, but Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the next James Bond could soon be confirmed, according to the report. The Sun. A source cited by the newspaper confirmed that the actor has received a “formal proposal” and “will sign the contract this week”.

For the last 15 years, the role of James Bond has been played by British actor Daniel Craig, who has five films to his credit as an MI6 secret agent. After the release of the last film in the franchise, “007 – No Time to Die”, in 2021, the actor officially said goodbye to the character, leaving the vacancy for the most famous spy in the world unfilled.

“Bond is Aaron’s job, if he wants to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting for a response,” said the source. “As far as Eon is concerned [Productions]Aaron will sign the contract in the next few days and they can start preparing for the big announcement”, he added. Production of the next film in the franchise is scheduled for this year.

In an interview with Numéro Magazine, the actor was asked about the possibility of becoming the next 007. Although he did not confirm or deny the rumors, he did not hide his enthusiasm: “TheI find it charming and wonderful that people see me in this role. I consider that a huge compliment,” he said.

In the running to fill the role of the next James Bond were actors like Cillian Murphy, who recently won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in Oppenheimer, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill and James Norton.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 33, is known for his roles in “Para Lá da Música” (2009),Kick-Ass – The New Super-Hero” (2010), “Anna Karenina” (2012), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and more recently “Bullet Train” (2022) alongside actors like Brad Pitt and Hiroyuki Sanada.

Before assuming his supposed “new identity”, Aaron Taylor-Johnson will soon return to the big screen alongside Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in “The Fall Guy” and in Kraven the Hunter” with Russell Crowe and Keanu Reeves.
