Margarida Balseiro Lopes, 34 years old, has a degree in Law, was a deputy between 2015 and 2022 and holds one of the six vice-presidencies of the PSD board. As a deputy, she was a member of several parliamentary committees, with emphasis on the Budget and Finance Committee and the Education, Science, Youth and Sports Committee.
She has a degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of Lisbon (2011), a master’s degree in Law and Management from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (2014), a postgraduate degree in Taxation from the Faculty of Law of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (2021) and a PhD candidate in Law at the Universidade Católica Portuguese (since 2021).
In the previous PS Government, led by António Costa, Youth was in a State secretariat, which also took over sport, and under the supervision of the Deputy Minister and Parliamentary Affairs.
In the XXIII Government, there was also a Secretary of State for Digitalization and Administrative Modernization, under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister, António Costa.
