Fernando Medina, former Minister of Finance and former Mayor of Lisbon, will be one of the faces of Now, the new information channel from Medialivre (the group that owns CM‘Saturday’, ‘Business Journal’, ‘Record’ and CMTVamong other titles).
“The attractive aspect of this project is the ambition regarding the quality of the information and the innovative model in our opinion, based here on relevant protagonists in the various areas”, says the economist. “For my part, I will bring my opinion to Now: informed, reflected, in-depth… and always, always free.” Fernando Medina joins former Prime Minister António Costa, former PSD leader Rui Rio, Cardinal D. Américo Aguiar and PSD parliamentary leader Hugo Soares, who have also been confirmed as protagonists of Now.
The new channel will be officially presented on Friday, with the presence of the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Pedro Duarte, among other important personalities in society.Now focuses on differentiated information for the most qualified audiences, focusing on the themes of Politics and Economics, on the great challenges of civilization, such as global warming or artificial intelligence, and on international information, with a particular focus on the European space. The project will also have a strong digital component.
André Coelho Lima face to face
Graduated in Law, André Coelho Lima is currently a deputy for the PSD, has already served as vice-president of the PSD, under the leadership of Rui Rio, and will be part of one of the face-to-face analyzes of the hottest topics in national politics on Now. “I identify this new channel as a bold, credible project, with the intention of providing an informative public service. With these characteristics and as civic intervention is not exclusive to Parliament or the exercise of political functions, I join it with pleasure”, he states.
