Airbnb offers stays in the house from the movie Up (and yes, it floats) | Sextou

After a stay in the swamp of Shrek, Airbnb decided to recreate another set from Pixar/Disney animated films in life size. This time, the house chosen was that of the couple Carl and Ellie Fredricksen, from the film Up: Highly.

The house is in Abiquiu, in the US state of New Mexico and, as the images show, it is suspended with the help of a crane — and eight thousand balloons. According to the description, which was written as if the author were Carl, the offer is limited to four guests and available on May 14th. The stay, advance the site from Airbnb, it’s just for one night and it’s free.

“I don’t always like having visitors, but I think it’s really nice to have them now that it’s just me and the Dug. Come stay in my cozy house that I created with my dear Ellie. My greatest adventures happened here and I learned that the best ones are always with someone we love. So, bring your friends to start your own Adventure Book and see how my house moves before you leave”, it reads.

The house has a bedroom with two beds, kitchen, living room and bathroom. The rooms are decorated with photographs and objects of the characters, such as Carl’s cane, Ellie’s glasses, the bed Dug, the talking dog, explorer Russell’s backpack and the couple’s armchairs by the fireplace. On the bed is the couple’s Adventure Book.

“Take a look. But don’t touch anything, I just put everything in order! Ellie and I decorated this place with things from all the trips we planned to take. I’m a little too old for adventures these days, but I know they still exist, especially if you stay here – but just for one night, don’t get too comfortable.”

Once installed, guests will be treated as Junior Wilderness Explorers and receive various medals depending on the tasks they perform.

For starters, they can take care of Carl’s correspondence or tidy up the house. “Someone has to do this, it might as well be you,” the host wrote.

Other suggestions include excursions around Abiquiu or an outdoor picnic. Before leaving, visitors will receive a surprise.

According to Airbnb, the house was recreated to celebrate the 15th. anniversary of the film and is part of a new Airbnb category called “icons” which, until October, will offer stays in replicas of the Ferrari Museum, Prince’s Purple Rain House or the film’s set Inside Out (Inside Outin the Portuguese version).

Anyone who wants to stay at Carl and Ellie’s house can make a reservation until May 13th. On that day, Airbnb chooses the four winners.

“If you’re lucky enough to stay here, you can start your own collection of badges, travel souvenirs, trinkets, things to remind you of your own adventures. I suppose I can help you with that. Ellie was the best adventurer, so you have a big role to play,” they wrote.
