Daniel Rooney is a young Scottish singer who, last weekend, saw his life change exponentially when he was chosen to urgently perform the first part of the Take That concert in Glasgow.

The 26-year-old musician was playing at the Radisson Red hotel on Friday when he was spotted by presenter Ross King. He proposed opening the first of three Take That concerts in the Scottish city, replacing Olly Murs, who was unable to attend the show due to transport problems.

Speaking to “BBC News”, Rooney stated that the last days of his life have been “crazy”. “My phone hasn’t stopped ringing for three days,” she said. On Friday, after accepting the offer, the musician found himself on stage at the Ovo Hydro room in front of 14 thousand people. “I usually play for around 40”, he joked.

Rooney assured that he didn’t even have time to feel nervous. “I was more focused on choosing the songs I would play. More excited than anything else,” he explained. His family only believed his story when they saw him on the news: “That’s when they realized he wasn’t joking.”

Take That took the opportunity to give him some advice, and Gary Barlow later praised him on social media. This young man saved the day. Thank you very much,” he wrote. Rooney now wants to take advantage of his new fame to go into the studio and record some songs. “I’ll see where this takes me,” he said.
