Cinema tickets for 3.50 euros? It will be like this for three days this month

“Among the more than 40 films of various genres and nationalities that can be seen on the 13th, 14th and 15th of May, with tickets priced at 3.5 euros, the Cinema Festival also celebrates national production”, reads a statement this Wednesday released by the Portuguese Association of Cinematographic Companies (APEC).

Among the national films currently showing in cinemas are “Cândido – The spy who came from football”by Jorge Paixão da Costa, the compilation “Entre Muros – 3 Portuguese Short Films”by Basil da Cunha, Inês Teixeira and Mónica Lima, “Revolution (without) blood”by Rui Pedro Sousa, “The Flower of Buriti”by Renée Nader Messora and João Salaviza, and “Mother”by João Brás.

In addition, the four films nominated for the Best Film category at the 2024 Sophia Awards, the Portuguese ‘Oscars’, will be rerun on those days – “Great Yarmouth – Provisional Figures”by Marco Martins, “Evil Living”by João Canijo, “Brave Nation”by Carlos Conceição, and “The Nothingness Club – Não Sou Nada”by Edgar Pera.

The Cinema Festival took place for the first time in 2015, having been interrupted in 2020 and 2021, due to the covid-19 pandemic.
