Released at the weekend, by the epidemiological surveillance of the Health Department (SMS) of Uruguaiana, the report reporting 36 confirmed cases of dengue in the municipality.

Following the national trend, the numbers exceed 2023, when there were 34 registered cases of the disease throughout the year in the city.

The recent positive tests are from three women, residents of the Ipiranga neighborhood, aged 32, 33 and 34, respectively. All incidences classified as autochthonous.

Now there are 27 autochthonous infections (a disease contracted in the city itself) and the remaining nine being imported. There are two patients hospitalized at Santa Casa de Caridade.

At the moment, notifications have reached 253 records, with 85 cases still being analyzed at Lacen – Central Laboratory in Porto Alegre. And of the total, 132 were discarded.

The identification of larvae by teams of 55 health and endemic disease control agents occurred most frequently in aquatic plants, plant pots, containers and tires.

Rain and high temperatures contribute to the spread of contagion. The Centro, São João, Cabo Luiz Quevedo, Vila Julia and Ipiranga neighborhoods have the highest incidence of the disease and notifications.

In Itaqui, the Municipal Health Department (SMS) still notes three cases of the disease in 2024. In Barra do Quaraí, on the border with Uruguay, where the first positive case of dengue was noted last week, the 67-year-old man finds He was admitted to the Santa Casa de Caridade de Uruguaiana and receives care, according to the medical report.

In Alegrete, according to Juliana Michael, responsible for epidemiological surveillance, to date, eight cases of dengue have been recorded, one of which is active.
