Another 7,600 new cases of dengue were confirmed this week in the South of Minas by the State Department of Health (SES-MG). With the new numbers, the region now has more than 31,900 confirmed cases.

According to SES-MG, the South of Minas currently has 31,975 confirmed cases of dengue. Varginha continues to lead the number of records in the region with 7,479 confirmed cases. Passos (2,343) and Campo Belo (1,498) appear next.

In Varginha alone, there were +1,922 new cases confirmed in one week. Areado (+422) and Passos (+360) appear next with the most confirmed cases.

The South of Minas continues with four confirmed deaths from dengue in 2024. So far deaths have been confirmed in:

  • Archburg: 1
  • Monte Belo: 1
  • Nepomucene: 1
  • Santo Antônio do Amparo: 1

In addition to these deaths, there are another 52 deaths under investigation by SES-MG in the region. In Varginha alone, there are 14 deaths investigated due to the disease.
