A survey carried out in the favelas of Heliópolis, Paraisópolis, Parque Santo Antônio and Rocinha by Data Favela showed that SBP is the brand most associated with the fight against dengue by residents.

The study was commissioned by the brand in partnership with Central Única das Favelas (CUFA) as part of the movement “Together Against the Mosquito”, SBP’s social impact project, which has been working with the support of the NGO within these communities.

Were realized 836 interviews with residents over 18 years of age and among them, 95% stated that they had been impacted by actions against dengue carried out in the communities in which they reside – of these, 91% associated the actions with SBP. 54% also related these campaigns to CUFA.

Through the program Together Against the Mosquito, SBP has carried out since the beginning of summer, in partnership with CUFAcleaning efforts, cultural actions and distribution of products in the four favelas where the research was carried out, in addition to communication about prevention in local media, such as pamphlets and community radio.

The distribution of insecticides and repellents was the action that most pleased residents, with 90% of mentions, but the distribution of awareness leaflets was the most remembered, mentioned by 91% of those interviewed.

In-person activities were considered most efficient in combating diseases transmitted by mosquitoes. In first place, product distribution was mentioned by 69% of respondents, followed by visits from health agents or local leaders, with 60%, and community events, such as joint efforts, in third place, with 55%.

“The results leave us very satisfied and motivated to continue with this work to combat Aedes aegypti and diseases caused by mosquitoes, especially at this time of epidemic in which we are living. The fight against dengue is and must be collective, and knowing that we have managed to engage so many people in the communities in which we operate is our greatest validation”declares Ana Beatriz Guerra, Head of Marketing for the pesticide category at Reckitt Hygiene Comercial, owner of the brand SBP.
