Forty-three thousand children and adolescents were vaccinated against dengue in Belo Horizonte. Demand for the vaccine increased last month after expanding the target audience. Fathers, mothers or guardians who have not yet taken their children to health centers should be careful, as there are only 6,500 doses left.

The capital of Minas Gerais received a batch of 49,500 vaccines. The campaign started at the end of February, with Qdenga only available to people aged 10 and 11. With low demand, the city hall expanded the age range, now up to 14 years old.

There is not enough stock for everyone. The audience aged 10 to 14 totals 120 thousand children and teenagers. The Municipal Health Department reported that it is waiting for more shipments to be sent.

According to the Ministry of Health, the foreign laboratory responsible for the vaccine has limited manufacturing capacity, but the public network was prioritized.

To receive the dose, people aged 10 to 14 must be with their father, mother or legal guardian. In addition, you must preferably present an identification document with a photo or birth certificate, CPF, proof of address and vaccination card. Click here and see the locations.

Those who have recently been diagnosed with dengue should wait 6 months after the onset of symptoms to start the vaccination schedule. If virus infection occurs after receiving the first dose, there is no change in the interval between applications, as long as the second dose is not applied less than 30 days after the onset of the disease.
