Dengue: Jardim do Lago receives vehicle nebulization action

Environmental Health Surveillance (VISAM), an agency of the Health Promotion Management Unit (UGPS), carries out vehicle fogging on the streets of Jardim do Lago this Wednesday (2) and Thursday (3). The strategy aims to contain the transmission of dengue in the neighborhood. The latest Arbovirus Bulletin points out that the region has 93 cases of the disease, out of the 2,796 registered in the city.

The strategy is used to eliminate the adult mosquito. The equipment uses a low volume of insecticide and targets Aedes aegypti in the home, that is, in the place where it rests, such as trees and walls. The recommendation is that residents do not stay at windows or balconies, remove animals from backyards, cover cages and, if possible, remove vehicles parked on the street, making the application machine’s work easier. Work will begin at 5am.

“We continue with coping and prevention strategies. We will complement the work in the neighborhood, which received house-to-house action to guide residents and search for breeding sites. We warn that it is necessary for the population to eliminate any objects that can accumulate water in properties and to dispose of garbage correctly, otherwise new mosquitoes will be born and cases will continue to grow. Dengue is a disease that can worsen and lead to death”, emphasizes VISAM coordinator, veterinarian Luis Gustavo Grijota Nascimento.

Last Monday (1), Jundiaí City Hall declared a public health emergency in the Municipality, due to the growing proliferation of the Aedes mosquito and the increase in dengue cases.
