The population must seek health facilities by May 31 to receive the vaccine, which protects against complications from the disease

Rio das Ostras began the flu vaccination campaign on March 25th. The target audience should seek the health units closest to their home as soon as possible, from Monday to Friday, from 1pm to 4:30pm. The Tourism Hub has longer opening hours for immunization, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

To receive the vaccine that protects against complications of the disease, it is necessary to present the vaccination booklet and CPF.

The campaign against influenza was brought forward by the Ministry of Health to protect the population before the increase in circulation of the Influenza virus, which normally occurs in this autumn and winter period. Rio das Ostras aims to vaccinate more than 49 thousand people by the end of the campaign, May 31st.

VACCINE – The vaccine used is trivalent, that is, it presents three types of virus strains in combination, protecting against the main viruses circulating in Brazil. According to the Ministry of Health, the influenza vaccine can be administered at the same time as other vaccines on the National Vaccination Calendar.

PUBLIC – The campaign’s target audience includes children aged 6 months to under 6 years; Pregnant women; Postpartum women and elderly people aged 60 and over.

In addition, indigenous children aged 6 months to under 9 years of age must be vaccinated; Health Workers; Teachers of basic and higher education; Indian people; Homeless people; Security and rescue forces professionals; Armed Forces professionals; People with chronic non-communicable diseases and other special clinical conditions (regardless of age); People with permanent disabilities; Truck drivers; Public road transport workers (urban and long-distance); Port workers; Employees of the deprivation of liberty system; Population deprived of liberty, in addition to adolescents and young people under socio-educational measures (between 12 and 21 years old).

Children who will receive the vaccine for the first time must take two doses, with an interval of 30 days between them.
