The city council of Boituva (SP) reinforces the importance of immunization against the flu and warns of low adherence among teachers. Vaccination is available in all Basic Health Units (UBSs) in the municipality for groups defined as priority.
According to the Ministry of Health, Boituva should vaccinate around 980 Education professionals, however, as of the 21st, only 71 teachers had received the vaccine.
The vaccine used is trivalent, that is, it presents three types of virus strains in combination, protecting against the main viruses circulating in Brazil.
The estimate is that 75 million people will be immunized in the country. The Ministry of Health informs that the influenza vaccine can be administered at the same time as other vaccines on the National Vaccination Calendar.
All UBSs, with the exception of the Center unit, offer vaccines from 8 am to 4 pm.
