The City Hall, through the Municipal Health Department (Semusa), informs that the Saúde na Praça event, held in favor of the health and well-being of the community, which took place last Saturday (27/4), was carried out successfully.

Held at Praça da Bible, in the Belvedere neighborhood, the event was attended by more than 1,200 people. On site, Semusa offered: vaccination; rapid tests; oral health guidance; and epidemiological surveillance. In addition, zumba and aerobics classes were presented. The children had inflatable toys and bounce houses.

There were more than 30 simultaneous actions taking place in the square, by the State University of Minas Gerais (UEMG), the University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ) and Semusa. Academic leagues from medicine, psychology, physical education and nutrition courses were present.

The Secretary of Health, Sheila Salvino, spoke about the importance of this event for preserving the health of citizens. “It was an important moment to celebrate this day and to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of health prevention, our biggest focus. It was a sensational and very beneficial event for everyone who participated,” she added.

For the president of the Municipal Health Council (CMS), Guilherme Lacerda, it was very exciting to see the entire community engaging in the activities offered at the event. “It was a seed planted so that it could germinate in other places. An event that promoted health, quality of life, knowledge, tips for living better! A feeling of gratitude for everyone involved, everyone who was present and all the partnerships that contributed to making the event happen! This was just the first. Let the next ones come!”, he highlighted.
