The City of Barbalha, through the Secretariat of Agrarian Development (SDA), informs that the doses of vaccination against Foot and Mouth Disease for 2024 are now available free of charge. This action is coordinated by the Ceará Agricultural Defense Agency (Adagri) and the Secretariat for Agrarian Development (SDA) of the State of Ceará, and is carried out in a single stage on an emergency basis. The doses were made available to the municipality of Barbalha through an emergency purchase made by the Association of Municipalities of the State of Ceará (APRECE).

Must have access, farmers who have their documentation up to date must go to the headquarters of the Ceará Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company (Ematerce), located at Rua do Vidéo, 184 – Centro, Barbalha. For cattle and buffalo breeders and with animals duly registered by the Agricultural Defense Agency of the State of Ceará, this is an essential opportunity to guarantee the health of the herd and contribute to the eradication of Foot and Mouth Disease.

The vaccine dosage is 2ml and only animals aged 24 months should be vaccinated. Producers will have until tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30, to complete the process. The goal is for Ceará to reach a vaccination rate of more than 90% for all its herds so that this is the last vaccination campaign in the state.
