The flu – The Flu Vaccination Campaign in the Municipality has been immunizing all priority groups since its inception. Are they:

– Elderly people over 60 years old;

– Children aged six months to under six years;

– Pregnant and postpartum women;

– Health workers;

– Teachers;

– People living on the streets;

– Indian people;

– People with chronic non-communicable diseases;

– People with permanent disabilities;

– Professionals from security, rescue and armed forces forces;

– Truck drivers;

– Public road transport workers;

– Port workers;

– Employees of the deprivation of liberty system;

– Population deprived of liberty;

– Young people aged 12 to 21 under socio-educational measures.

The dose of the influenza vaccine is trivalent and immunizes against three types of influenza viruses: H1N1, H3N2 and influenza B, of the Victoria lineage. The composition of the vaccine is established annually by the World Health Organization (WHO), based on information received from reference laboratories on the prevalence of circulating strains.

Documentation – To receive the vaccine, you must present an official document with photo and vaccination card. Pregnant women must present a monitoring and/or prenatal card or medical report. Postpartum women will need to show the child’s birth certificate or document from the hospital where the birth took place. People with chronic illnesses must present a report or prescription proving their health condition.

To access the vaccine, the teacher will need to display a document proving their active employment in the position. Health professionals must show a document from the class council (if any) or proof linking the worker to the health institution (declaration from the employer, work card or pay slip, for example).

HPV – The HPV vaccine (acronym in English for human papillomavirus) is also available for children and adolescents aged 9 to 14 years. This vaccine is being administered in a single dose, in accordance with recent guidance adopted by the Ministry of Health and incorporated by the São Paulo State Department of Health. The main objective is to expand vaccination coverage in this age group. The HPV vaccine is the main way to prevent cervical cancer.

Covid-19 – For 2024, the Ministry of Health has included the vaccine against Covid-19 in the annual vaccination calendar for children aged 6 months to 4 years, 11 months and 29 days. The vaccination schedule for this group comprises three doses of the vaccine.

For other audiences, the current recommendation is to prioritize groups at greater risk of developing severe forms of Covid-19. People over 60 years old, immunocompromised and pregnant and postpartum women are recommended to receive two doses per year.

Priority groups must receive an annual dose. They are: people living in long-term care institutions and their workers, people with comorbidities, individuals with permanent disabilities, health workers, indigenous people, riverside dwellers and quilombolas, people deprived of liberty over 18 years of age, adolescents and young people complying with socio-educational measures, employees the system of deprivation of liberty and people living on the streets.

Vaccines for children under 12 years of age continue to be offered at Cemas on weekends and holidays and at the 30 Family Health Units (Usafas), from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 4 pm. Vaccinations against Covid-19 from the age of 12 are only being centralized at Cemas, on weekends and holidays.

Other vaccines – Cemas also offers vaccines corresponding to the National Vaccination Calendar, such as polio, measles, hepatitis, among others. The meningitis vaccine is currently offered to children under 5 years of age. Meningococcal ACWY, in turn, is available for those aged 11 to 14.
