Vaccination against influenza – the flu – will be expanded to the entire population over 6 months of age in the Federal District starting this Thursday (2/5). The Department of Health (SES-DF) will make the vaccine available at various service points in regions of the DF.
According to the ministry, everyone must go to one of these locations with a vaccination booklet and identification document.
There will be vaccination points at the Plano Piloto Bus Station, at the Basic Health Unit (UBS) 1 Lago Norte and at the Lago Sul Polyclinic.
In administrative regions further south of the DF, there will be service in all UBSs, as is the case of Gama and Santa Maria.
Most UBSs are open from 8am to 5pm on weekdays.

Expansion of vaccination
Previously, the dose was reserved for priority groups, such as children aged 6 months to 6 years, healthcare workers, teachers, pregnant women and people over 60 years of age.
On Tuesday (30/4), the Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, published on X (formerly Twitter) that the flu vaccination campaign would be expanded to the general public. “We are bringing forward this measure to respond to the increase in influenza cases,” she wrote.
The expansion of the age group is valid until the supply of vaccines available in the public network ends.
Below target
Expanding the target audience also serves as a way to increase the volume of people immunized, as, in recent years, vaccination coverage against influenza has been below target.
In 2023, almost 16 million Brazilians who could have been immunized did not show up at the service centers. This year, until the 21st, only 22% of people in priority groups had been vaccinated in Brazil.
The immunizer made available by the Unified Health System (SUS) in 2024 protects against the viruses Influenza A (H1N1), Influenza A (H3N2) and Influenza B, the strains that have been circulating most throughout the country.
