Starting next Monday (6), children aged 6 and over, people aged 15 to 59 with comorbidities and the homeless population will also be able to be immunized against dengue. Until then, only children and adolescents aged 10 to 14 were receiving the dose.
In a note, the secretariat informed that immunization will be carried out from 8 am to 6 pm in all health units in Palmas. At the time of vaccination, it is necessary to present the vaccination card and, in the case of patients with comorbidities, prove the existence of the condition through a report or consultation with the health system that includes the patient’s monitoring.
The comorbidities listed by the folder, in the case of people aged 15 to 59, include chronic neurological, cardiopathic, hepatic and kidney diseases; syndromes such as Down; and diabetes mellitus. Pregnant women and immunocompromised people cannot receive the vaccine.

To date, of the 9,082 doses sent by the Ministry of Health to the capital of Tocantins, 3,425 have been applied. The number corresponds to 37.7% of the quantity received, leaving 5,637 doses, which will be destined to expand the target audience.
From the end of May, the second dose will be administered to the first people immunized in Palmas, as the vaccination schedule consists of two applications with an interval of three months between them.
