From Monday (6), the vaccine will also be available at AGs in the Center, Agricultural School, Badenfurt and Fortaleza, according to the city hall. On Tuesday (7), according to the Epidemiological Surveillance Directorate, a new shipment with another 2,500 doses should arrive in Blumenau. The city hall hopes that throughout the week the vaccine can be offered in health posts with vaccination room.
The guideline is that parents and guardians look for the units with their children taking the booklet. The dengue vaccine is administered in a two-dose schedule, with an interval of three months between doses. The objective is to reduce hospitalizations and deaths from the disease. This year alone, 17 people died in Blumenau because of dengue.
