A morning of awareness brought together this Saturday (04), the school community of the Dr. Vulpiano Cavalcanti de Araújo Municipal Center for Early Childhood Education, located in the Igapó neighborhood, on a walk through the streets surrounding the teaching unit, which brought together 396 children enrolled in Early Childhood Education, accompanied by family members with the aim of raising awareness in the community against dengue and preventing the proliferation of the mosquito that transmits the disease.

“Our walk has the theme – dengue kills and inclusion saves -, because we use both, the two themes that are being worked on at CMEI on dengue and our institution is in an environment very prone to the proliferation of mosquitoes, in view of this we set up a project to be worked on at the institution”, mentioned administrative director Maria Sandra Pereira de Medeiros Souza.

The initiative marked by the participation of the school community demonstrates the commitment of everyone involved in promoting public health and protecting those who are part of the school environment. “Our vision as an educator is to convey the importance of prevention regarding this disease that is spreading every day, especially in some neighborhoods in the north, and also work on inclusion, which is of paramount importance in the institution. So, with this we try to work on this partnership together with families and children in general”, highlighted professor Valtércia Teodoro da Silva.

The walk reinforces the essential role of Early Childhood Education not only in academic development, but also in civic formation and in promoting collective well-being. “I think it’s a very important event to raise awareness among the entire community. We need to take care of our neighbors, we need to take care of ourselves. It’s not just prevention against dengue, but today is also a very special day for us, who are atypical mothers, who are atypical families, for the community to get involved and not see autism as a disease, but as a neurological condition that can be taken care of and that people understand”, said Magnólia Nascimento dos Anjos, mother of Ryan dos Anjos Martins, two years old and enrolled at CMEI Dr. Vulpiano Cavalcanti de Araújo.
