Teresina Emergency Hospital celebrates 16 years of dedication to healthcare – Teresina Municipal Health Foundation

The Teresina Emergency Hospital (HUT) solemnly celebrated its 16th anniversary this Monday (6). To mark the date, the hospital brought together its employees and authorities from the Municipal Health Foundation (FMS) for a celebration in the HUT auditorium.

The event was marked by moving and reflective speeches about HUT’s journey over the years. The president of FMS, Dr. Ítalo Costa, recalled his experiences during his tenure at the hospital, highlighting the vital importance of HUT. “HUT, over these 16 years, has saved many lives. And today, in my current position as president of FMS, I look at HUT with even more attention. We have faced many challenges throughout this period, but this hospital’s greatest asset is its resources humans, it’s people”, emphasized Dr. Costa.

The director of HUT, Dr. Élio Rodrigues, in turn, presented impressive numbers of the hospital’s impact on the community over the years. More than 1 million consultations, 210,000 surgeries and 1.8 million imaging exams are tangible evidence of the commitment of the people who make up HUT to provide special care. “I thank everyone who makes HUT a reference hospital in urgent and emergency care, a reference not only for the city of Teresina, but for the state of Piauí”, highlighted the director of HUT.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the traditional cutting of the cake, symbolizing the unity and teamwork that permeate daily life at HUT. The first slice was delivered to nursing technician Gilcilene Maria de Sousa Barros, in recognition of the commitment and dedication of all hospital employees.

In addition to the festivities, HUT’s anniversary was also marked by the delivery of essential equipment that will improve service to the population. Emergency cars, the new pathology laboratory and ventilators were some of the items delivered, totaling a significant investment of more than R$155 thousand.

HUT reaffirms its commitment to providing medical care in times of urgency and emergency. There are 16 years of commitment to the health and care of the population.
