On the morning of this Monday, the 6th, the mayor of Capivari, Vitão Riccomini, announced another important action to combat the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, which transmits Dengue. In the coming days, 1,800 visiting points (PV’s), also popularly known as manholes, will receive space fogging, to further contain the increase in cases of the disease in the city.
“After having carried out fogging in all neighborhoods of the city, as well as in municipal schools, today we started fogging in the manholes on public roads. These locations are visiting points for the underground network, located in the middle of the street, different from the manholes located near the sidewalks. There will be more than 1,800 points like this throughout the city that will host this action. I would like to thank the employees of the Department of Health and SAAE Capivari who are supporting this action to happen quickly and efficiently”, highlighted Mayor Vitão
According to the latest update from the Department of Health, Capivari recorded a total of 1,635 cases of Dengue in 2024, with three confirmed deaths due to the disease. However, according to the same survey, the most recent period with detailed information between April 15 and 21, recorded the lowest number of cases in the last 10 weeks, with only 83 confirmed.
Fogging work will take place at alternative times so that movement on public roads does not interfere with the action. For more information, the Health Department can be reached by calling (19) 3492-8200, from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
