The work “Signs and symptoms in the medical clinic”, published by the State University of Tocantins (Unitins), is the result of work between teachers and academics from the Medicine course (T2) Câmpus Augustinópolis. The publication, which has been on air since the 3rd, seeks to present the main points regarding the signs and symptoms of the pathologies faced by the Brazilian population.

Divided into six chapters, which deal with headache, acute pain and chronic pain; dizziness, syncope and fainting; lymph node enlargement, fatigue and weight loss, tiredness; cough and edema in the lower limbs; nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, reflux, lower digestive symptoms; and fever and symptoms of the lower urinary tract, the book provides easy reading and presents research carried out by students Carlos Daniel Dutra Lopes, Ellen Mendes Azevedo, Gabriela Moreira da Silva, Mariel Henrique da Costa Garcia, Sara Batista Andrade Dias, Tony Souza Queiroz, together with teachers Adriana dos Santos Oliveira and had the help of two other teachers: Mariana Gomes Pereira and Nadia Regina Stefanine.

The idea for creating the work arises from a conversation between professor Adriana and student Carlos Daniel, in which the academic wanted to write about the topic. “The book is a personal achievement. It brings data on signs and symptoms in clinical medicine that we end up using both in academia, with practical and theoretical applicability, added to the contents of the discipline I work in, which is General Pathology and Special Pathology. It was very hard work, surveying and signaling between teachers and academics”, comments professor Adriana

For the director of Editora Unitins, Liliane Scarpin Storniolo, the academic production “is a text that seeks to clarify doubts and propose solutions to health problems. The Editor is very honored to have this publication that is a reference for the academic community and to the external public.”
